How to Rehire an Employee
Rehiring an employee in Province Payroll is intentionally simple. The goal is to help you get them back on payroll quickly and accurately.
✅ How Rehire Works
When you click "Rehire" on an inactive employee’s profile, all you’re doing is assigning them a new wage. That’s it.
A new employment period will be created automatically.
You’ll be taken directly to the Add Wage form.
Once saved, the employee is considered active again and will be included in future pay runs.
This flow focuses on what matters most when bringing someone back: their pay.
✍️ What Else Might Need Updating?
Rehiring won’t change any other fields automatically. If the employee has moved, changed their tax situation, or needs a new email, update those separately through the employee’s profile.

Mailing address
Tax Credits/Federal and Provincial TD1 forms
You’ll find all of those under the corresponding sections on the employee’s page.
Once you've assigned the new wage, you're all set—your employee is reactivated and ready to be paid.
