Our Roadmap
Our roadmap outlines the features and enhancements we plan to deliver as we continue building Province Payroll. Timelines may evolve as we learn, respond to regulations, and incorporate customer feedback.
Our commitment remains the same: to deliver reliable, compliant payroll software that empowers micro-businesses across Canada.
(Coming January 2026) T4 Creation and Filing
Province Payroll will generate and file T4s on behalf of our users. Employers will be guided through a simple review workflow and will be able to make edits where necessary prior to submission. Fees will apply for T4 services.
Automatic Statutory Holiday Pay Calculations
Province will automatically calculate statutory holiday entitlements for every jurisdiction in Canada. This includes support for variable-hour employees—something many payroll providers struggle to handle. This eliminates manual calculations and reduces compliance risk.
Correction Payrolls (Based on National Payroll Institute Best Practices)
Payroll mistakes happen. Province will offer a clear, reliable correction workflow. Users will simply select the payroll that needs adjustment, add or change earnings as needed, and approve. Net differences and tax changes will be calculated automatically, and employees will receive updated pay stubs.
Contractor Workflow & T4A’s
Many small businesses pay independent contractors. Province will support a contractor workflow, including T4A creation and filing. Fees will apply for T4A services.
Payments
Province will support CRA remittances and potentially employee direct deposit. Fees will apply for payment services.
Journal Entry Creation & QuickBooks Integration
Province will generate accounting journal entries for each payroll run, helping users post payroll to their bookkeeping system. A QuickBooks integration is planned for seamless syncing.
Automatic Pay Runs
For businesses with predictable payroll, users will be able to enable automated payroll runs based on their set schedule.
Payroll Reporting
Province will offer reporting tools that provide insight into labour costs, payroll history, and key employment metrics.
